JUDGES

Pensee Liang is a recent graduate from the Honors Business Administration (HBA) Program at Ivey Business School, Western University. She is currently an Analyst at the Private Equity Secondaries team at Blackstone New York. Throughout her time at Western, Pensee was the Co-President of Ivey Private Capital Club, the Head Analyst of the Western Investment Club, the Chair for the University Students’ Council, and the Co-Founder of the National Case Competition.

Pensee was a judge at Target Alpha’s 2023 Stock Pitch Competition. 

Michelle Cao is a graduate from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Economics and specializing in Finance and Business Analytics. Currently an Associate at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Michelle has also gained experience as a Capital Markets Intern Analyst at CPP Investments. She was recently accepted into the 2+2 MBA program at Harvard Business School.

Michelle was a judge at Target Alpha’s 2023 Stock Pitch Competition and 2024 Financial Planners Competition. 

James Weiss is the Senior Director of Investments & Operations at CI Financial. Previously, he was a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Engineering from Queen's University, achieving top honors in both programs. James combines analytical skills and strategic insight to drive success in wealth management.

He was a judge at Target Alpha’s 2024 Financial Planners Competition. 

Joane Osei Owusu is a Senior Analyst in Management Consulting at Accenture in Montreal, focusing on change management and data migration projects. Joane is also a board member and mentor at Management Consulting Concordia (MCC) and has coached consulting teams at Concordia University for case competitions.

Joane was a judge at Target Alpha’s 2024 Financial Planners Competition. 

Ronak Parikh is a Senior Analyst at Nasdaq’s Corporate Solutions Advisory in Toronto. Prior to this, he was an Investments Associate at Old Greenwich Capital Partners. Ronak has also gained experience through internships at Fincare Small Finance Bank and ICICI Securities, where he worked on projects ranging from portfolio construction to M&A advisory.

Ronak was a judge at Target Alpha’s 2024 Financial Planners Competition. 

Henry Jin is a graduate from Dartmouth College, majoring in Quantitative Social Science, Global Health, and Government. Currently, he is a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, with previous experience as a Summer Business Analyst at Arthur D. Little. He was also a Research Intern at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Researcher at UC Santa Barbara. 

Henry will be a judge at Target Alpha's 2024 Stock Pitch Competition.

James Leong is a fourth-year student at the UBC Sauder School of Business pursuing his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Business Technology Management. James has extensive field experience interning at Slogan Social, Arise Applications, EY, and UBC MFRE.

He was a judge for Target Alpha's 2024 Financial Planners Conference.

Andy is currently a Senior Analyst at Canadian Tire, with previous experience as a Senior Accountant at KPMG. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in Accounting and Financial Management, where he also received his Master of Accounting.

Andy was a judge in Target Alpha’s 2024 Financial Planners Competition. 

Niki Alizadeh is currently pursuing a BBA at the University of Toronto, with specialization in Management and Finance. She has experience as a Financial Analyst Co-op for LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services, the Vice President of Corporate Relations for the University of Toronto Women’s Student Association, the Director of Marketing for the UTSC FinTech Society, and the Director of Business Development for the University of Toronto Investment Society. 

She will be a judge for Target Alpha’s 2024 Stock Pitch Competition.

Isabela Sagan is a currently a Management Consultant at Mensana Change Management Ltd. She has previous experience as a Strategy Consultant at GeoSpoc and a Financial Analyst at RBC. Additionally, she possesses a Master of Science in Management and International Business from the Ivey Business School at Western University.

She was a judge for Target Alpha's 2024 Financial Planners Conference.

Samuel Appleton is a 2023 Loran Scholar, currently pursuing his Bachelor of Commerce at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Samuel has had extensive experience as a full-time Analyst for Limestone Capital and a Research Analyst intern for Advantage Capital Strategies Group. Additionally, he has volunteered as an Analyst for Blackleaf Capital and a Consultant for FreshSight Queen's Consulting. 

He was a judge for Target Alpha’s 2024 Financial Planners Conference.

Michael Ma is currently pursuing a Double Major in Economics and Mathematics, with a Minor in Statistics. He has had extensive experience as a Capital Markets Performance Analyst Intern for OMERS, an Equity Research Analyst for the Rational Capital Investment Fund at the University of Toronto, and as a Financial Analyst Intern for BMO.

He will be a judge at Target Alpha's 2024 Stock Pitch Competition.
